Stephanie and Lew’s week-long Villa Tre Grazie wedding celebration was a gorgeous continuation of their wedding in Denver, Colorado. Adventure weddings with a tight group of best friends and family spread out over several days are truly some of the most meaningful experiences we’ve seen. With the right location, you can have a celebration that can be mind-blowingly unique, adventurous, and life-changing. And with smart planning, it can be financially possible.
Stephanie and Lew invited 20 of their best friends and close family to one of the most gorgeous and charming hidden countryside villas called Villa Tre Grazie. They spent 5 glorious days celebrating together following their wedding in Denver, Colorado. Villa Tre Grazie is astoundingly charming. It’s a beloved 16th-century countryside Renaissance villa near a hillside town called Todi in the heart of Umbria, Italy. The entire property makes you feel like you are traveling back in time with old-world charm and breathtaking panoramic views, olive orchards, and kittens that will melt your heart.
Stephanie, Lew, and their small group of family and friends perfectly relished their experience here. We ebbed and flowed with them for 5 days of adventure photography during their Villa Tre Grazie wedding celebration. Stephanie and Lew started off the event with a big bang! They announced their pregnancy around the dinner table with a charming gender cake that revealed to them that they were having a baby girl! Steph’s dad is the only one who knew the gender and had the chef prepare a special cake with “pink” on the inside! Wow! Such a powerful moment with everyone! Must-see photos!
The days following we took morning hikes around the property, exquisite breakfasts (the local figs are divine), more late-night candlelit dinner conversations (with one gorgeous long outdoor table), billiards, pool parties, private truffle hunting and eating in the village hills of Pettino (The Wild Foods Truffle Hunt – OMG.. the local delicacies such as homemade pecorino cheese, salamis, bruschetta with truffle and loads of wine that is out of this world!). They even prepared special eggs with the sheep cheese, olive oil, prosecco, and Andrea Bocelli music in honor of Stephanie and Lew. Even the sheep came running to greet them. The following days some guests went to the Hot Springs in Tuscany while others stayed back for a private cooking class making fresh pasta and ravioli (everyone enjoyed it around the massive long table outside). Other nearby day drips were taken to Cingoli Troviggiano and Assisi (beautiful medieval towns) and Lake Bolsena for boating together. Others went to the oldest winery is Scacciadiavoli at Montefalco where you can have lunch and wine tasting.
On their last day, Stephanie and Lew enjoyed a day in Civita di Bagnoregio and a wedding blessing at the church in Doglio in Chiesa di San Salvatore followed by dinner at Umbria Restaurant. Quality time together over a series of days made for perhaps some of the most precious days life has to offer. An absolutely breathtaking experience!
“Having you guys in Italy only extended our family to two more incredible additions. We are so thrilled you made the trip out for us and celebrated all the moments we did. Plus everyone LOVED you guys. Thank you for absolutely everything, as I have said before, I feel so incredibly lucky I came across you guys on the web. And you must be in some of our pics in the album!!!! Again, you are family, not “our photographers.” But about your talent…my GOD. Mind-blowing guys.” – Stephanie & Lew
