Rita and Kyles Timberline Lodge wedding was incredibly intimate, adventurous and meaningful. They both love snowboarding, hiking, camping, and all things outdoors! They hired us as photographers because they love moment driven photography … “there is an inherent beauty and joy in it. I admire candid photos – ones that capture the energy and emotion of the moment. I want a simple, rustic gathering of those I love and care about the most.” After many meetings with them we shared with them the importance of not worrying about the photography and to instead put everything into the intention and connections on their wedding day. This freed them up to ebb and flow into moments as they naturally happened while we followed every move without any interference. For us this is the best because it allows us more opportunities to capture real moments.

Rita and Kyle like “anywhere with snow.” And guess what? They got snow flurries all day. They headed outside for some thrilling moments before their Raven’s Nest ceremony. Surrounded by over 100 guests Rita and Kyle began their celebration with a beautiful tea ceremony honoring Rita’s parents. With tears of joy and deep loving smiles they exchanged their vows near the Raven’s Nest massive window that looks out over Mt Hood and Timberline Lodge’s ski slopes. Having a Timberline Lodge wedding fit them so well with its adventurous atmosphere. Mt Hood alone almost whispers an invitation for brave love. In Rita’s words, “no matter what challenges lay ahead, I only hope that we continue to share the simple joys of life, never take one another for granted, and to remember that we only have this one life to live.” What more can one say? Absolutely beautiful.

Having their Ullman Hall wedding reception downstairs from the Raven’s Nest was yet another perfect transition into a diverse backdrop for guests to enjoy. The Ullman Hall has massive doors that allow guests to access the outside patio. While Rita and Kyle were enjoying the dance floor we set up and tested a creative fun night shot lighting up icicles and snow flurries. It took only a few minutes to capture this last photograph with them while they took a breather from the dance floor and enjoyed a quiet moment together in the snow. Then all of us headed right back into the dance party together with epic dance music. So awesome!
