St Marys Cathedral Wedding – Nicole & Nima

Nicole and Nima’s St Marys Cathedral wedding was absolutely gorgeous. They are about as high energy, fun-loving and striking as it gets. No surprise given their Puerto Rican/Italian and Persian cultures! They fused modern twists on a traditional Catholic/Persian Portland wedding. Colors of plums, magenta’s, graphite grey, black and white along with orchids, peonies, roses, and anemones in jewel tones inspired the day along with modern damask print patterns.

When Nima glanced at Nicole for the first time at the progressive Indigo (Nima’s firm helped build), bursts of energy abound! And not one, but two ceremonies followed!

The first was a beautiful catholic St Marys Cathedral Wedding ceremony at Portland’s largest sanctuary, St. Marys Cathedral. Upon their exit they celebrated on a Portland Cascadia Pedicabs escapade through Portland’s historic pearl district streets with their wedding party toward their Persian ceremony at Pure Space. This ceremony was fun and playful with Nima dancing in with his parents to music. Beautiful enchanting poems from Rumi were read so elegantly by Niloufar Nouri – Wedding Vows by Nilou (Persian Ceremony) while Nicole and Nima fed each other honey to seal their vows. Because both ceremonies were so traditional they wanted to make sure their guests were given the proper environment at their reception to let loose, eat, drink, and dance the night away. They had everyone on the dance floor from the time they were announced as bride and groom and continued non-stop to the end of the night.
