Nikki and Eric’s Silcox Hut winter wedding atop Mt. Hood above Timberline Lodge Ski Resort, beautifully coordinated by Lexi Kerr with Your Perfect Bridesmaid. When you combine a Silcox Hut winter wedding with a stunning location nestled atop Mt. Hood, the experience often opens people up to something they never could have otherwise imagined.
Nikki and Eric’s Silcox Hut winter wedding was no exception, as they exchanged vows first intimately alone, then surrounded by their closest family and friends. The day started early for Nikki and Eric who were eager to make the most of the day. They woke up to sunny blue skies with deep snow outside their room at Timberline Lodge and started getting ready for their beautiful gathering of friends and family. They both embodied the best of simple elegance which in so many ways gave them the freedom to “be.”
There’s an incredibly insightful saying that says, “I wasn’t happy because it was beautiful, it was beautiful because I was happy.” Nikki and Eric embraced this so well. Nikki and Eric headed outside into the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Hood massive in the distance, and the ski resort below was a hive of activity. There were skiers and snowboarders gliding down the slopes, families bustling around the lodge and enjoying the winter landscape.
Nikki and Eric took it all in, savoring the moment and the beauty of the surroundings. As the sun began to set, it was time for the main event. Several snowcat trips escorted everyone above Timberline Lodge to Silcox Hut. Silcox Hut is a rustic and cozy cabin that feels like a special womb made for families to unite. It’s perched on a ledge above the ski resort, with views that stretched out for miles. Inside, the space is warm and inviting, with a wood-burning stove crackling in the corner and candles flickering on the tables. When you open the door to Silcox Hut it feels like you’re slowly pushing about 250 pounds of weight. Entering through it is almost like a right of passage.
Nikki walked down the aisle, arm in arm with her father with an undeniable feeling. The hut was filled with emotion, as everyone looked on with tears and bursts of emotional laughter. It’s no exaggeration to say it felt like the world seemed to stand still during these moments. The reception was a celebration of love and joy, with music, dancing, and laughter filling the hut.
The Silcox Hut team is seriously talented. Their gourmet food is delicious, with hearty dishes like gourmet chicken and roasted vegetables warming up the guests in the chilly winter surroundings. Nikki and Eric danced their first dances together and with each of their parents then eventually flowed into everyone dancing together.
Nikki and Eric’s beautiful Silcox Hut winter wedding atop Mt Hood above Timberline Lodge Ski Resort was absolutely gorgeous. The stunning location, the love between them, and the unique atmosphere made it unforgettable. If you’re looking for a magical winter wedding, then Silcox Hut is definitely the place to be.
