If there are two people who perfectly celebrated Valentine’s Day it was Lisa and Jarred during their Silcox Hut Wedding above Timberline Lodge Ski Resort atop Mt. Hood. On February 14th twenty-five friends and family gathered for an emotionally touching small Silcox Hut wedding above Timberline Lodge. Lisa and Jarred got ready in separate Air B&B cabins, then came together at Sycamore Lodge in Government Camp. One of their favorite moments was seeing each other for the first time in the woods with family and friends looking through big windows on their moment. So awesome.
When you enter the Silcox Hut at 7000 feet its rustic mid-mountain lodge feels like something right out of Game of Thrones. Its massive wooden beams, hot fireplace hearth, and vast views make you feel like you are in a dream world or another time. Atop Mt Hood, the weather is always doing something dramatically different. Whether its a snow blizzard, wild winds, sleet, mud or a perfectly blue sky day with red-orange sunsets over cotton clouds in the distance its a dramatic adventure and jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Lisa and Jarred found themselves in a very intimate snow blizzard. The wind howled all night, snowdrifts filled window panes, and a red-hot orange glowing fire kept everyone warm while dancing the night away. With this small gathering, the intimacy was closer than ever and emotions ran deep. So real. So beautiful. We also had the honor of photographing their maternity photos too, their soon to be new family is going to be so lovely.
