If you’re looking for an absolutely stunning setting and you are in love with Italy, look no further than a Ravello elopement at Villa Cimbrone. It’s the sacred jewel of Ravello, Italy along the Amalfi Coast. It is an enchanting 12th-century building nestled on cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s only accessible by foot along a panoramic stone path from the center of Ravello. This gorgeous villa has castle-like architecture, stone fireplaces, tiled floors, antiques, oil paintings, cliff-side gardens, and friendly faces that greet you with the most exquisite feeling. The ambiance here is like stepping into a medieval poem. Having your reception dinner in their medieval Crypt will transport you and your guests back in time. Villa Cimbrone is a sublime location for a destination Ravello elopement or wedding. The breath-taking belvedere from the cliff-side terrace overlooking the dramatic blue ocean waters 1200 feet down will make you understand why Ravello habitué Gore Vidal said: “this is one of the most beautiful views in the world.”
Emily and Pete’s private Ravello elopement was one of the most unique and meaningful weddings we’ve photographed. When we arrived we had a chilled bottle of champagne in our room with a note saying, “Welcome Tree and Jos. We are honored to share this experience with you.” We were speechless. We poured our hearts into capturing every moment with these two as they lead us on a journey that we will never forget. Witnessing Emily and Pete’s love taught us about an inner spirit and strength of character that has deepened our understanding of what marriage means. “La vita e un sogno.” (Life is a dream).
This gorgeous venue, Hotel Villa Cimbrone, is located at Via Santa Chiara, 26 84010 Ravello (SA) Italy: Tel +39 089 85 74 559. Event coordination by the lovely Simona Apicella. Their Matrodi, Baldo Durazzo, also did the catering and provided the finest personal touches and impeccable communication. The ceremony violinist was by Giovanni and officiant was Giuseppe. And the dinner wine was Costa d’Amalfi, per Eva, Tenuta San Francesco and reception dinner in the Crypt was provided by the Micheline star restaurant, Il Flauto de Pan.
