If you’re looking for an absolutely stunning setting and you are in love with Italy, look no further than a private Ravello Elopement at Villa Cimbrone. It’s the sacred jewel of Ravello, Italy along the Amalfi Coast, on of the best cliff side wedding venues in Italy. It is an enchanting 12th-century building nestled on cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. It’s only accessible by foot along a panoramic stone path from the center of Ravello. This gorgeous villa has castle-like architecture, stone fireplaces, tiled floors, antiques, oil paintings, cliff-side gardens, and friendly faces that greet you with the most exquisite feeling. The ambiance here is like stepping into a medieval poem. Having your reception dinner in their medieval Crypt will transport you and your guests back in time. Villa Cimbrone is a sublime location for a destination Ravello elopement or wedding. The breath-taking belvedere from the cliff-side terrace overlooking the dramatic blue ocean waters 1200 feet down will make you understand why Ravello habitué Gore Vidal said: “this is one of the most beautiful views in the world.” Take time to explore Villa Cimbrone’s rich history and stunning charm. You will LOVE it!
Emily and Pete’s private Ravello Elopement was one of the most unique and meaningful weddings we’ve photographed. When we arrived we had a chilled bottle of champagne in our room with a note saying, “Welcome Tree and Jos. We are honored to share this experience with you.” We were speechless. We poured our hearts into capturing every moment with these two as they lead us on a journey that we will never forget. Villa Cimbrone’s event spaces provided the perfect setting for their private Ravello elopement.
Witnessing Emily and Pete’s love taught us about an inner spirit and strength of character that has deepened our understanding of what marriage means. “La vita e un sogno.” (Life is a dream). Whether we’re capturing quiet moments locally or documenting luxury destination wedding photography, our goal is always to create timeless visual stories. Elopements are some of our all time favorite celebrations to photograph, be sure to see our full elopement portfolio.
“Jos and Tree! These photos are stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. I am floored, thrilled and infinitely grateful. These are the result of extraordinary talent combined with a lifetime of experience. You two are exceptional creatures and your artwork breathtaking.” – Emily

Plan Your Ravello Elopement
Inspired by Emily & Pete’s journey, here is how to curate an unforgettable Amalfi experience from start to finish.
The Day Before: A Taste of Ravello
Start your journey by slowing down. We recommend a private hands-on cooking class at Villa Maria Cooking School. It’s a beautiful way to gather with your closest people, pick fresh ingredients from their organic gardens, and learn the secrets of authentic Amalfi flavors before the big day.
The Celebration
-
The Setting: A seamless flow at Hotel Villa Cimbrone, featuring the impeccable service of Matrodi Baldo Durazzo. Provided catering and the finest personal touches and exceptional communication.
-
The Mood: Walking the stone paths in an Atelier des Modistes gown, accompanied by the strings of Giovanni’s violin.
-
The Dinner: A candlelit feast in the Crypt featuring Michelin-starred cuisine from Il Flauto di Pan paired with Tenuta San Francesco wine.
The Day-After Adventure
-
Private Sailing: Charter a small, private boat via Veliero Tortuga to explore hidden emerald grottos and sea caves.
-
Cliffside Lunch: Stop at a secluded, boat-access-only restaurant for a quiet seafood lunch away from the crowds.
-
Sunset in Positano: End your journey in the harbor of the “Vertical City” just as the evening lights begin to twinkle.
- 2nd Day-After Adventure: Step into the cinematic heart of Atrani, Italy’s best-kept secret, where you can escape the Amalfi crowds and lose yourselves in a romantic labyrinth of ancient arches and sun-drenched piazzas.
