Asia and Joey’s Patricks Point elopement along the cliffs of Wedding Rock was otherworldly. Sharing vows hundreds of feet above the crashing surf with expansive Pacific Ocean views ushers in an experience that will last a lifetime. Gentle breeze, wild crashing waves, and sunny blue skies invited them into an incredibly intimate celebration with 15 members of their immediate family. Asia and Joey have been together for T H I R T E E N years! This setting couldn’t have been a more perfect metaphor for their enduring commitment to one another.
“Wedding Rock” is an unforgettable landmark, its size and its bold position over the ocean sends a great message to everyone who shares vows here. The journey through the woods and up the cliff rocks was a communion with nature that invited the perfect mood. Asia and Joey’s officiant had a microphone for them to speak into which allowed everyone to hear their vows. While we were photographing them from the highest point on Wedding Rock everyone could hear their words. Beautiful, powerful, and true. Both Tree and I photographed high, low, far, and close to capture the full dimension of their story. After their ceremony exit, everyone headed back to their rental house for an outdoor reception dinner while we escorted Asia and Joey on a mini photo adventure in the cliffs and beautiful sunset light. This stunning setting reminded us of what Einstein and Thoreau said, “look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”; “heaven is under our feet as well as over our heads.”
