If their intimate Orlando courthouse wedding was the calm, beautiful beginning of Paloma and Oduche’s journey, their New Orleans pre-wedding celebration was a magnificent explosion of pure joy, unfiltered creativity, and deep friendship. As wedding photographers who thrive on capturing multi-day destination weddings, documenting this next chapter was an absolute dream.
A Gathering of Unique Characters & Show-Stopping Style
Paloma and Oduche don’t just have friends; they have a collection of brilliant, colorful, and creative souls who double as unique characters. Everyone arrived in New Orleans dressed to absolute perfection, but the couple completely stole the show. Paloma was a vision of carnival energy, sporting a breathtaking, full Mardi Gras feather headpiece that radiated pure celebration. Oduche counterbalanced her look perfectly, channeling effortless, rock-and-roll style in an ensemble that felt remarkably close to Lenny Kravitz.
The festivities kicked off with a warm, soulful welcome gathering at a beautiful nearby Airbnb, where the energy immediately started building. This wasn’t just a traditional bachelor or bachelorette party, it was a collective immersion into the spirit of friendship and anticipation.
Our incredible planner, Bethany Gwendolyn Lemanski with Gwendolyn Events did a masterful job organizing this unforgettable New Orleans experience with a crawfish boil, ensuring the entire weekend flowed with effortless, vibrant energy.
The Spanish Bull on Wheels & Spontaneous Street Parades
The next day, the magic moved toward the historic French Quarter Fest. Waiting for the group was a DJ booth unlike anything we’ve ever seen: a custom, mobile mini “art cart” designed to look like a vibrant Spanish bull. The DJ car stroll/parade with Michael J. Feduccia and the bull was the perfect fit. “Just follow the bull” was everything anyone needed to know as the magic unfolded.
With the music pumping from the bull’s speakers, the crew of 40 friends marched directly into the heart of New Orleans. We danced, laughed, and paraded down the pavement. Whenever the mood struck, the entire parade would stop completely in the middle of intersections for spontaneous, high-energy dance-offs.
The energy was so infectious that it broke the barrier between onlookers and partygoers. Passersby, locals, and tourists were pulled right off the sidewalks, joining the circle to dance under the afternoon sun.
As wedding photographers, we wanted our images to feel exactly how the moment felt. We utilized purposeful motion blur, slow shutter speeds, and dynamic framing to capture the dizzying, ecstatic movement of the crowd, contrasting the beautiful chaos with the crisp, joyous faces of Paloma, Oduche, and their brilliant community.
From Morocco to New Orleans: A Full-Circle Story
For us as photographers, this weekend felt profoundly full-circle. We first met Paloma and Oduche in Marrakech, Morocco, during a week-long 50th birthday celebration where an incredibly tight-knit community formed almost instantly. Seeing many of those same faces reunited in New Orleans, and knowing we will all soon cross the Atlantic together again, reminded us why we love telling these expansive, multi-chapter love stories.
Just days ago, we hopped onto a large group Google Meeting with the circle of friends to reveal and share all of these New Orleans photos for the very first time. Watching everyone relive the laughter, the dancing, and the pure New Orleans magic together over the screen created an unbelievable buzz. The emotional anticipation is officially striking a fun fever.
Next Stop: A Luxury Destination Wedding at Finca La Concepcion Marbella
All roads now lead to Southern Spain. Later this year, Paloma and Oduche will host a grand, multi-day luxury destination wedding at the historic Finca La Concepcion Marbella in Málaga.
The excitement is massive. This won’t just be a wedding; it will be a historic gathering of 375 guests flying in from New Orleans and all corners of the globe. The guest list perfectly mirrors the couple’s rich heritage: half of the attendees are Nigerian, half are Spanish, and the rest represent a beautiful smattering of global loved ones.
Beautifully conceptualized and designed by their Spain wedding planner, Love Atope, the celebration will seamlessly fuse Paloma’s Spanish roots and Oduche’s Nigerian heritage into an immersive, multi-day Marbella wedding experience surrounded by Andalusian light and ancient gardens.
Orlando was the quiet, sacred promise. New Orleans was the joyful, unfiltered celebration of community. Málaga will be the grand, unforgettable culmination of it all. We cannot wait to be there to capture every moment of this incredible cross-cultural celebration in Spain.
