Jillian and Laurens’ Mt Hood wedding was a dream come true, set in the breathtaking landscape of Rhododendron, Oregon, surrounded by the majestic beauty of Mt. Hood. The air was crisp and fresh, and the leaves rustled as a gentle breeze swept through the towering trees, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere that was perfect for the occasion. They held a “private” pre-ceremony hike to Ramona Falls where they got ready and had their “first look” at the falls.

As the sun began to set, the wedding guests gathered under the canopy of trees, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bride and groom. Jillian appeared in a stunning white lace dress. Laurens was equally radiant, standing tall and present.

When they walked into their Mt Hood wedding ceremony their families saw them for the first time. This was extra special since most of their family flew from Holland to attend. Their family was standing in a circle….and their rings were passed around to all the guests to hold in their hands and to give them a blessing. Jillian lit a candle to honor her Dad who passed away many years ago. Jillian was also wearing a bluejay feather in her hair (along with other flowers) in tribute to him. They exchanged personal heartfelt vows, each expressing their love and devotion to the other and the joy and excitement of starting their new life together. They read a prose poem called Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer. Their brothers also read a poem at the very end (called “Blessing the Boats” by Lucille Clifton). After lighting the candle, Jillian smudged the surroundings with sage and led a short meditation with everyone.  As the ceremony drew to a close, the family cheered and applauded, their hearts filled with the beauty and magic of the moment bursting into dance and confetti everywhere.

Jillian and Laurens chose to get married on Mt. Hood for a reason. Having an Mt Hood wedding is almost always a unique and stunning location, known for its breathtaking scenery, fresh mountain air, and romantic ambiance. The mountain offers an array of picturesque settings for a wedding ceremony, from intimate forest clearings to majestic overlooks with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

For Jillian and Laurens, getting married on Mt. Hood was a natural choice, as they both shared a love of the outdoors and the stunning natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. “We wanted to get married somewhere that was truly special and unique, and Mt. Hood was the perfect place,” said Jillian.

The celebration was filled with laughter, good food, and dancing. Jillian and Laurens cut their cake, and the guests enjoyed a delicious feast, all while taking in the breathtaking views of the mountain. The “reception” was a private chef making us a farm-to-table dinner.

Jillian and Laurens’ Mt Hood wedding was a testament to the beauty and magic of getting married in the Pacific Northwest. The stunning natural surroundings, fresh mountain air, and romantic ambiance make this location an ideal choice for anyone looking to celebrate their love in a truly unique and unforgettable way. As Jillian and Laurens put it, “We will always cherish the memories of our special day, and we hope that our story inspires others to choose this amazing location for their own weddings.”
