If you are looking for an intimate small wedding venue, The Cove Beach Lodge in Manzanita, a craftsman style home, is your answer. Jen and Rod’s Manzanita elopement was so intimate, fun, and meaningful. The panoramic oceanfront areas in Manzanita are magnificent and accessible by foot from this stunning location. The Cove Beach Lodge is on an acre of land at the end of a private road. It’s a hidden jewel in the heart of one of the most untouched sceneries on the Oregon Coast. The vast, natural landscape and wind-worn trees make for a timelessly unique backdrop. Great for photography. The interior of this home lodge offers an excellent space for an intimate private dinner for your guests with gorgeous all-encompassing views of the ocean scene.

When we were invited by Jen and Rod to photograph their intimate wedding along with the raw beauty of the Oregon Coast in Cove Beach (by Arch Cape) we were suddenly overjoyed with extraordinary honor. In addition to their passion for the arts (they both work in the tv biz  – Jen Harding is a producer and Rod Chauvin is an Emmy-award winning director of photography) we immediately felt their deep love for one another, family, and friends. Although they have both traveled the world working on shows and seen many magical places, the Oregon Coast has always been close to their hearts. They wanted a very small wedding with 30 guests (family only) to keep things intimate. And they couldn’t have found a more gorgeous spot at The Cove Beach Lodge. It has a large sculpted lawn that leads down to a sun-bleached driftwood-lined private beach looking out over the ocean. Combining a 1920’s swank best Gatsby-era get-ups to the wild nature of the Oregon Coast was the perfect setting for their wedding. Jen is a Jewpanese (Jewish & Japanese) and Rod is a purebred New Orleans cajun and the personality of their group was least to say, “full of colorful characters.” Having their fathers officiate their wedding brought all of the emotions together from tears of joy to hysterical laughter (OMG… the surprise HOO DAT signs). And their New Orleans 2nd line dancing with colorful masks, parasols, and hats late into the night left an impression that we will remember for the rest of our lives. An absolutely lovely Manzanita elopement.
