beautiful hood river gorge weddings
The Columbia River is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America; a killer destination location for Hood River Gorge weddings. Just 30 minutes west of downtown Portland, the Columbia River Gorge is one of the most accessible and beautiful scenic spaces in Oregon. The Historic Columbia River Highway is a 20-mile stretch with grand waterfalls and views as you drive through the luscious green forest. There are endless places to stop and enjoy the view and numerous hiking trails to explore adventurous engagement photos.
We love the experience of great adventures and celebrating engagements with powerful photographs. There’s nothing like taking photos with expansive views, near the natural wonder of a massive waterfall, or like a sky filled with rich color. If you love nature we will join you on a “hiking date” and capture moments that make you pop out in the expansive scene. We believe in the thrill and inspiration of fun outings with great photos. What better way to begin the journey of your wedding? So fun! So beautiful and meaningful!
Hood River is the perfect gateway to usher your family and friends into their weekend wedding experience. Have your welcome gathering at the Historic Hood River Hotel. Broder Ost is right next door with a fun bar and one of our favorite breakfast spots of all time. There are also many Air B& Bs. The Hood River area has dozens of great wineries to explore. Checkout: Cascade Cliffs Vineyard, Viento Wines, Syncline Wine Cellars. Be sure explore White Salmon, it’s a hidden jewel too.
Having all your friends and family gather in a beautiful outdoor natural setting is unique and spectacular, especially with a massive mountain glowing in the distance, vast views, fields of flowers, or lush greenery everywhere. Outdoor ceremonies are gorgeous all by themselves, nature itself is the best decor. We also love them because they don’t feel “commercial.” There’s something about a natural setting where all time stops. Many of these Hood River Gorge venues offer “farm to table” dinner options since this area is surrounded by great farms. Done safely they are a great solution for COVID.
Since the Hood River Gorge area has vast landscapes away from big ambient lights we can adventure deep into nature for night photography. With the opportunity to get away from light pollution we can pull our creative off-camera flash and take long exposures to bring in the magic of the night sky while lighting you up. When the sky is right we prioritize a plan to create space for these powerful photos to happen and do lots of test shots before guiding you into “the shot.” That way we bring out for an exciting “breather” while not take you away from your party for too long. It’s awesome!
