Faye and David’s French Chateau wedding at Château de Blavou made us want to drop everything and simply move to Normandy, France. Chateau de Blavou is located in an extremely beautiful and undiscovered part of France. It’s perfectly placed in Perche National Park in the triangle of Caen, the Loire Valley, and Paris… the heart of many national French treasures. Arriving at the chateau immediately makes you feel as if you’re stepping back into the early 1800s. Its front two massive towers, Great Hall, vaulted ceilings, multiple rooms, 600-year-old dining area, surrounding cottages, open meadows, and more made this an absolutely gorgeous setting for Faye and David’s wedding. The owner even gave free rein over the Chateau and grounds for the whole day and no curfew late into the night. Unbelievably perfect. It’s no overstatement to say how Faye and David’s love completely graced every corner of this space. Faye’s Irish roots and David’s upbringing in Normandie combined with their light-hearted personalities, tremendous kindness and wit were extraordinarily delightful to witness. They seemed to be straight out of a romance novel. No double Faye’s Ph.D. in Irish poetry and David’s extensive linguistic talents contribute to their brilliant perspectives. When Robert Frost’s poem, “The Master Speed” was spoken during Faye and David’s French Chateau wedding ceremony a torrent of warmth seemed to flow through everyone. Unforgettable.

No speed of wind or water rushing by
But you have speed far greater. You can climb
Back up a stream of radiance to the sky
And back through history up the stream of time
And you were given this swiftness, not for haste
Nor chiefly that you may go where you will
But in the rush of everything to waste
That you may have the power of standing still
Off any still or moving thing you say
Two such as you with such a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar

– Robert Frost
