Andrew and Steven’s Castaway Portland wedding was off the charts. Spending time with Andrew and Steven is like eating Salt and Straw ice-cream and drinking the most incredible coffee and champagne. Conversation flows so effortlessly and laughs never stop. We enjoyed several glasses of wine with them over Skype and dinner in Portland and when it came time to shoot their wedding we felt like we were long-time friends.
Andrew and Steven met randomly at a bowling alley almost 6 years ago and have been inseparable ever since. They got engaged on a rooftop in Provincetown, MA last August 2015 and decided to get married in Portland. Steven was born in Portland and grew up in the area, his grandmother lives here and is an important part of their lives and they wanted a destination wedding that still had meaning. They are both architects living in Washington DC with a simple contemporary yet classic style. They know exactly what they want.
They picked one of the best venues in Portland: Castaway Portland. Built in 1929, Castaway was home to the makers of yellow strand rope used in the original Portland Street Car. It was later used as a smelting and refining warehouse. The views of the bridges and night lights are epic. The perfect spot for Andrew and Steven’s wedding theme: FUN!
