Having a Cannon Beach wedding at Surfsand Resort on the Oregon Coast on a warm summer day is absolutely marvelous. The expansive views of the distant ocean, far-reaching sandy beaches, and salt of the sea in the air invite the best of feelings. Having all of your guests sit outside on chairs, feet in the sand with a gentle breeze is such a lovely setting (growing solution for COVID with a small group, setting up chairs safely apart with the gentle wind). Heather, having a theatre background brought in her unique celestial theme with sun, moon, and stars. Their friend Jack blew a shell at the beach to clear space for the beginning of their Cannon Beach wedding ceremony. They had prayer beads to wrap around their hands and were anointed with oils while their friend Aisha read On Marriage from The Profit by Kahlil Gibran. Everything was in walking distance which provided easy transitions and an experience for everyone to flow from one part of the day to the next. If you are planning on a Cannon beach wedding, aim for August. This day was one of the warmest days of the year for Cannon beach. It was so lovely.
We approach every wedding as if it were our first. This keeps our eyes fresh and ready for anything and everything, especially real moments. Running in the sand is no easy feat, but we love the challenge. With Heather and Don we found expression after expression, so profound, beautiful, comical, and liberating. We adore them.
