portland is a playground
Portland is a thriving metropolis of lifestyle. It’s less like a city and more like a cluster of mini towns that offer a variety of colorful, funky, and charming cultures. We have the most breweries and microbreweries per capita than any city in the world. Portland has infinite iconic food options, coffee and boutique shops at ever corner, quick access to deep nature, wine country, and local artists everywhere. There are hundreds of great wedding venues, easy to find. We’ve listed a few images and links to our favorite venues above. We want the finest wedding experience for you and your guests. Below are a few suggestions to help enrich your experience and jumpstart the conversation.
celebrate the
weather
Portland’s distinct seasons are exciting photography opportunities. Spring (April-June) means you could have every form of weather in one day. The diversity can be thrilling where we capture some of our best moments. Summer (July-earlySept) is wonderfully warm, sunny and dry with low humidity, a Midsummer’s night dream. Fall (lateSept/Oct) is often mild full of colorful golds and reds.
tap into
local
Portland loves everything handcrafted and independent. When it comes to ingestible, breweries, restaurants, bar scenes and food carts are offering tasting rooms for wine and cider. There are big small boutique shop scenes throughout the city full of locally made creations. Epic spa treatments too. And don’t forget about the famous Powell’s Books. It’s filled with floors stacked with new and used books and gifts.
plan
excursions
Most Portland adventures seem to be about eating and drinking. The local wine, beer and cannabis tours are a very common and fun way to experience the area and all it has to offer. Of course there are also delicious brunch and exceptional restaurant experiences. For wine country, The Willamette Valley is Oregon’s largest wine region, stretching 100 miles from Portland to Eugene.
explore
outside
The Portland area is surrounded by incredible nature and sights. If staying close by is up your alley, you can pretty much find a city park within a mile of anywhere. Here are a few of our favorites: the Japanese Garden, The Rose Garden, The Chinese Garden, Cathedral Park and Hoyt Arboretum. You can find lovely hiking right inside the city at Forest Park, it’s the seventh largest inner city green space in the US. For more extensive hiking explore the Columbia River Gorge or head up to the Cascade Mountains and visit Mt Hood. The Oregon Coast is one of the most beautiful parts of Oregon and only 1.5 away and worth the drive!
