Ashley & Charlie - Bend Oregon Wedding

Ashley and Charlie’s Bend Oregon wedding might be the best combination of beauty and chaos we’ve seen. Planning a wedding can be a challenging task, but when you’re doing it in a city like Bend, Oregon, the stunning surroundings can make it all worth it. Bend is known for its breathtaking natural scenery and charming downtown area, making it a popular destination for weddings. And when the wedding is held at a private home that’s still being built, it adds an extra layer of excitement and uniqueness to the event.

Ashely and Charlie chose to exchange their vows in the backyard of their beautiful custom home which was yes… still under construction, adding a touch of adventure and awe for everyone. Despite the fact that the house wasn’t yet completed, everyone was determined to make magic and turn this into the best housewarming party imaginable.

Their ceremony took place outside, surrounded by the lovely beauty of the mountains and forests of Bend. But wait, one more element of surprise showed up, right at the beginning of the ceremony it started to rain, profusely! Still, Ashley and Charley continued to say their vows in front of their loved ones, who had traveled from near and far to be there. Everyone embraced the moment and celebrated the comical joy making this an unforgettable experience.

Immediately following the ceremony everyone hustled inside laughing, hugging, enjoying beverages, and cutting the cake amidst the “construction zone.” Open studs, lumber, sawdust, scaffolding, and power tools were everywhere. A super interesting and fun “cocktail hour” inside. For dinner, everyone enjoyed a beautiful outdoor reception under the tent, complete with a delicious meal, speeches, dancing, and laughs. Ashley and Charley chose to decorate the outdoor space with simple, elegant details that complemented the natural beauty of the surroundings. Strings of lights and flower arrangements added a perfect touch of romance. This wedding day in Bend, Oregon will always be remembered as a day filled with love, adventure, and natural beauty.

Charlie has been a long-time photographer, has taken many photography workshops, and shot many weddings. It’s always next level for us to photograph a photographer’s wedding, but it gave us a good edge to push ourselves. It was also great knowing Charlie “gets” our process. Lots of good laughs happened between all of us. So fun!

When we heard their vows, time stopped and feelings flooded through our veins. “I will respect you even in moments of conflict. I will be honest and loyal to you always. Your battles are now my battles. You won’t ever have to go through the hard things alone again. I’ll put in the work it takes to maintain a healthy marriage.” These words are as real as it gets. So powerful.
